You can collect a Canadian SIM at six Canadian airports: Toronto Pearson (Terminals 1 and 3), Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Winnipeg. You order online before you fly, choose the airport at checkout, and the SIM is waiting at the kiosk when you land. Vancouver and Montreal have no kiosk, so if you land at either one, take the eSIM instead.

An eSIM is a digital SIM you install by scanning a QR code, with no card to collect. Airport pickup means a physical SIM held for you at a kiosk in the arrivals area of the airport you choose.

Key takeaways

  • Pickup is available at six airports: YYZ (Terminals 1 and 3), YOW, YYC, YEG, YHZ and YWG.
  • You order before you fly. The pre-arrival prices are not sold as a walk-up purchase.
  • Vancouver (YVR) and Montreal (YUL) have no kiosk, so take the eSIM if you land there.
  • Pickup is for the monthly Rogers and Fido plans. Short-stay prepaid plans come as an eSIM.
  • If your phone supports eSIM, the line is already on your phone when you land and you can skip the kiosk.

Which Canadian airports have a pickup kiosk?

Six airports have one, and Toronto Pearson appears twice because both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are on the list. Choose the terminal your flight arrives at, which is not always the one you left from last time.

How does airport pickup work?

You order online, pick the airport, and collect the SIM when you land. Step by step:

  1. Choose a monthly plan on the plans page.
  2. At checkout, choose airport pickup and select your airport. At Toronto Pearson, select your arrival terminal.
  3. Enter your arrival date. A tentative date is fine, and you can update it later if your plans change.
  4. Your order confirmation comes by email after payment, and the line is set to activate before your arrival date.
  5. When you land, go to the kiosk and collect your SIM.

What if I land in Vancouver or Montreal?

Neither airport has a kiosk, so order the eSIM instead. The QR code comes by email, and the line is active 24 hours before the arrival date you enter at checkout, so your Canadian number works when you land. If your phone doesn't support eSIM, a physical SIM can be shipped to a Canadian address, or to India, the Philippines or Brazil before you fly.

Should I collect a SIM or take the eSIM?

Take the eSIM if your phone supports it, because the line is already installed when you land. Collect a SIM if your phone has no eSIM, or if you would rather hold a physical card.

To check eSIM support, dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID appears, your phone takes an eSIM. The compatibility guide walks through the check in more detail.

Which plans can I collect at the airport?

Airport pickup is for the monthly plans, which are for stays of 90 days or more. Both are no-contract Rogers and Fido plans sold only before arrival.

Rogers 100 GB 5G planFido 75 GB 5G plan

  • Rogers 100 GB, $40 a month: unlimited Canada-wide talk and text, unlimited international texts, 1,000 long-distance minutes to India, Bangladesh, Mexico and the UK, and hotspot.
  • Fido 75 GB, $35 a month: the same calling, texting and long-distance minutes, without hotspot.

Prices are in Canadian dollars, and taxes are extra. The payment at checkout is a deposit credited to your first bill from the carrier. A monthly plan paid on time also starts your Canadian credit history. Visiting for less than 90 days? The short-term prepaid plans come as an eSIM.
