BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Check the destination program before choosing electives

The certificate supports named health-program pathways, but it does not secure a place in every health program. Match your target credential and application year to its actual entry rules. For example, Pharmacy Assistant adds completed Pre-Health Sciences as an academic alternative from 2027/28; Primary Care Paramedic is not in the captured Pre-Health pathway list.

Preparing to study

The approximately $2,000 books-and-supplies estimate already includes computer requirements. A laptop is preferred and a phone is unsuitable. Avoid adding a second assumed computer allowance to that estimate without checking what you need to buy.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Check the academic route

SAIT assesses the documents and course equivalents for education completed outside Canada. Demonstrating English proficiency does not by itself establish that your academic subjects meet the program requirements.

Check the complete admission requirements ↗
  1. English and math

At least 50% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 30-2 AND at least 50% in Math 20-1 or 20-2, or accepted equivalents.

  2. Science combination

At least 50% in both Biology 20 AND Chemistry 20, OR at least 50% in Science 30, or accepted equivalents. Biology alone or Chemistry alone does not fulfil the paired route.

  3. Language and foreign education

English proficiency and international document assessment remain required. A later health-program application has its own requirements and selection process.

English proficiency is a separate requirement

Assessment results must be from within the year before your application. A transfer or deferral can require updated results when that period has passed.

PREPARING FOR THE PROGRAM

Use the Pre-Health checklist for this stage

  • The shared clinical table marks consent as required for Pre-Health Sciences, with the other clinical-document cells not applicable. It does not establish a required clinical placement for this certificate.
  • A destination health program may require separate entrance testing, documents or a placement. Completing the foundation does not remove those later conditions or guarantee admission.
