ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

English and mathematics are both required

This page lists a subject-based route. It does not supply the GED or placement-test alternatives that appear on some other Bow Valley programs.

  1. English subject

Credit in English 30-1 or English 30-2, or an equivalent.

  2. Mathematics subject

Credit in Math 20-1 or Math 20-2, or an equivalent.

  3. Separate checks

Meet the English proficiency requirement and check the college's country-specific documents for education completed outside Canada.

Check English proficiency separately

The general English table includes IELTS Academic at 6.0 per band, Duolingo 110, TOEFL 83, CLB 8 in every strand, PTE Academic 59–64 as displayed, and BVC Academic English 2 at B−. Academic English 1 is not an accepted option under this policy. These language routes do not replace the mathematics admission subject.

THE COURSE SEQUENCE

A four-term curriculum ending with TECH 2998

The 60-credit data lists 20 required courses over four 15-credit terms, ending with the TECH 2998 capstone. The overview also describes a field-placement alternative, but the captured course map does not identify its substitution, credits or charges. Confirm that option before relying on a placement in your study plan. Competency-based assessment does not guarantee a shorter completion time.

PREPARING FOR THE PROGRAM

Recommended equipment beyond the minimum

  • For multiple virtual machines and heavier workloads, Bow Valley recommends an i7, Core Ultra 7, Ryzen 7 or higher processor, 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. Those are recommendations rather than the minimum requirements.
  • Allow for the laptop and any unentered course or personal costs separately from the tuition table. Confirm the unresolved field-placement option directly with Bow Valley.

Sources and planning scope

Sources checked 29 October 2026. The tuition dataset identifies 2026-27. The intake resource has conflicting freshness metadata, so its observed labels require confirmation before use as current availability. Individual admission, equivalency and immigration decisions remain with the relevant institution or authority.
