Check the web course sequence as well as the design foundation

The five Web-major courses are Database Programming and Testing, Programming Languages, Web Application Development, Web Security Fundamentals and Intermediate UX. Database Programming and Testing and Web Application Development are co-requisites, following their earlier programming prerequisite. That sequence differs from Graphic Design's imaging, typography and print courses.

Preparing to study

Allow approximately $2,000 per full-time year for books and supplies. Bring a laptop with webcam, a smartphone that records audio and video, and headphones with microphone. SAIT lists an M2 MacBook Air with 8GB memory and 512GB storage as the Mac minimum and recommends a 14-inch M2 Pro MacBook Pro; a PC meeting power-user requirements is also allowed. Adobe CC is required, Figma is free for education and MS Office is included.

THE STUDY STRUCTURE

Four semesters with five Web-major courses

The 60-credit diploma has 19 required courses, comprising 14 common Interactive Design courses and five Web-major courses. The capstone uses the Web-specific prerequisite group. The optional zero-credit work term after year one sits outside the required total. Blended delivery includes campus study; it is not a promise of a wholly online diploma.
