Bachelor of Applied Technology Geographic Information SystemsSAIT
The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Geographic Information Systems is a two-year applied degree entered after prior post-secondary study. Its second year centres on directed field studies, with a different billing structure from the first-year academic courses.

Thirty degree credits do not mean thirty billable credits
The directed field studies course awards 30 degree credits, but SAIT bases its second-year tuition on 5.7 billable credits. Use the actual $6,102.20 second-year table total when planning, rather than multiplying the first year's tuition or charging for 30 additional billable credits.

SAIT assesses the documents and course equivalents for education completed outside Canada. Demonstrating English proficiency does not by itself establish that your academic subjects meet the program requirements.
Check the complete admission requirements ↗-
Diploma route
A two-year diploma from a recognized Canadian college or technical institute, or an accepted equivalent.
-
Alternative post-secondary route
Successful completion of two years at a recognized post-secondary academic institution. Prior study remains required; this is not a direct high-school entry degree.
-
English and documents
English proficiency and the international document assessment for foreign education apply. The admission block does not state a GPA threshold or an automatic language exemption.
English proficiency is a separate requirement
Assessment results must be from within the year before your application. A transfer or deferral can require updated results when that period has passed.

Academic courses followed by directed field studies
The degree requires 60 credits across 12 courses. Eleven academic courses contribute 30 credits, and GEOS 540 directed field studies contributes the remaining 30. A capstone and 800 hours of work experience are required. Those hours do not establish a guaranteed paid position or a fixed calendar duration for every student.
