In this guide
You can get a Canadian SIM without a Canadian credit history. Prepaid is one option. CanadianSIM also advertises specific pre-arrival Rogers and Fido newcomer offers with no credit check. Check the particular offer’s eligibility, billing, and verification requirements before choosing between them.
Two routes to compare
| Route | How it works | Who should compare it |
|---|---|---|
| Prepaid travel service | Pay for a defined allowance and service period in advance | Visitors who want a clear end date and do not need a monthly account |
| A qualifying newcomer monthly offer | Sign up under the provider’s advertised newcomer conditions, with ongoing carrier billing | Eligible people arranging service before a longer move to Canada |
CanadianSIM’s plan comparison currently presents its Rogers and Fido pre-arrival offers as available without a credit check or Canadian address. That statement is about those offers. It should not be read as a rule for every Rogers or Fido signup, every retail store, or every device-financing agreement.
If you are already in Canada, are returning after living there previously, or are unsure whether you qualify as a new arrival, confirm eligibility with CanadianSIM before paying. The offers are advertised for pre-arrival customers.
No credit check does not mean no verification
The provider still needs to process the order, collect payment, and complete the verification required for the service. Follow the requests made through the official order flow. Do not assume that buying a SIM removes every identity or travel-information requirement.
It is useful to separate four questions:
- Credit: does this particular offer require a credit check?
- Eligibility: does the offer apply to your arrival status and travel dates?
- Verification: what information must be supplied to complete activation?
- Payment: what is collected now, and what will be billed later?
Contact CanadianSIM before ordering if you need help confirming these details.
Understand the payment at checkout
For CanadianSIM’s current Rogers and Fido monthly offers, the plan payment at checkout is a deposit credited to your first carrier bill. Taxes are extra. It is not evidence that the service is prepaid for an unlimited period or that later bills will disappear.
Current advertised monthly prices are CA$35 for Fido 75 GB and CA$40 for Rogers 100 GB, before tax. Review the order summary and carrier terms for your account. A phone bundled with service can also introduce separate device charges or conditions, so compare SIM-only service separately from a handset purchase.
When prepaid is the better fit
For a short holiday or family visit, a fixed prepaid period can be simpler than maintaining a monthly account. CanadianSIM’s prepaid store currently offers a 30-day package with 95 GB and a 90-day package with 75 GB total. Both include a Canadian number and calls within Canada.
The current prepaid packages do not support hotspot and do not include US or international roaming. Check those limits before choosing one for laptop work or a trip that crosses the border. A plan that is easy to buy still needs to fit the way you will use it.
For a longer stay, compare the monthly options on their merits. The prepaid-versus-postpaid guide explains the differences in service period, data, and cancellation.
What if you do not have a Canadian address yet?
An eSIM is delivered by email, so it does not need a Canadian shipping address. CanadianSIM also advertises no Canadian address requirement for its pre-arrival monthly offers. You still need to supply accurate billing and verification information requested for your order.
If your phone needs a physical card, use a supported pickup point or eligible delivery address. Do not invent an address to get past a form. Contact the team if a required field does not match your situation.
Check these details before paying
- Confirm that the offer applies to your arrival date and circumstances.
- Check that your exact phone is unlocked and compatible with the chosen SIM format.
- Read the data, calling, hotspot, and roaming inclusions.
- Distinguish the checkout payment from any ongoing monthly bill.
- Understand when service begins and what you must do when you no longer need it.
For a monthly plan, deleting the eSIM does not cancel billing. Arrange cancellation with the carrier when you intend to end service.
Common questions
Does no credit check guarantee a new phone on finance?
No. A SIM-only offer and a device-financing agreement are separate products. Check the conditions of any handset offer directly.
Do I have to choose prepaid because I am new to Canada?
No. Compare prepaid with any newcomer monthly offers for which you qualify. Stay length and required features matter as well as the signup process.
Can I apply after landing?
CanadianSIM’s current newcomer offers are advertised for pre-arrival orders. If you are already in Canada, ask the team which options are available for your circumstances.
