BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Prior study can support entry without shortening the course

The admission route accepts either the specified high-school English subject or at least two years of recognized post-secondary education. SAIT separately states that credit for prior learning is unavailable because the courses are closely integrated. Meeting the post-secondary entry alternative does not therefore establish course exemptions.

Preparing to study

Allow approximately $1,000–$1,500 per full-time year for books and supplies and bring a laptop meeting SAIT's power-user requirements. Do not assume that a device specification from a different computing program is sufficient for these classes.

Applying to this program

Check Database Administrator's current intake and required preparation. If you intend to use prior education for entry, confirm the assessment while planning for the full integrated course sequence.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Check the academic route

SAIT assesses the documents and course equivalents for education completed outside Canada. Demonstrating English proficiency does not by itself establish that your academic subjects meet the program requirements.

Check the complete admission requirements ↗
  1. English subject route

At least 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 30-2, or an accepted equivalent.

  2. Post-secondary alternative

At least two years of education at a recognized university, institute or college can meet the stated alternative. Both routes still require English proficiency.

  3. Preparation and assessment

IT literacy and relational-database or operating-system experience are strongly recommended preparation. Foreign education requires the stated international document assessment.

English proficiency is a separate requirement

Assessment results must be from within the year before your application. A transfer or deferral can require updated results when that period has passed.
