Compare the school-subject and prior-certificate routes
You can apply through the listed Math, English and Physics subjects, or through SAIT's Power and Process Operations certificate plus Physics 30. The certificate route still requires at least 60% in Physics 30. The program's preparation for Fourth- and Third-Class examinations does not make certification automatic.

SAIT quotes $800 for books and supplies over the whole two-year program, including a specified fluid-mechanics textbook for AMEC 356. Bring a standard-specification device and a scientific calculator with linear regression. A hard hat and safety glasses are provided; hard hats must be worn in the lab, and protective footwear is recommended.
Check international seats and the academic route that matches your previous study. A valid driver's licence is strongly encouraged in the program guidance; it is not listed as a universal admission requirement.

SAIT assesses the documents and course equivalents for education completed outside Canada. Demonstrating English proficiency does not by itself establish that your academic subjects meet the program requirements.

Option A
At least 60% in Math 30-1 or 75% in Math 30-2; at least 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 75% in English Language Arts 30-2; AND at least 60% in Physics 30, or accepted equivalents.

Option B
Completion of SAIT's Power and Process Operations certificate AND at least 60% in Physics 30, or accepted equivalents.

English proficiency is required. Education completed outside Canada needs the stated international document assessment; a prior credential does not remove that requirement.
English proficiency is a separate requirement
Assessment results must be from within the year before your application. A transfer or deferral can require updated results when that period has passed.

- Education in EnglishOfficial transcripts or a completed international assessment must verify at least three years of full-time secondary study in English at 12 or more hours a week, or at least two years of study taught in English at a recognized post-secondary institution, or a recognized English-taught credential from a SAIT-approved institution.
- A post-secondary English courseA credit course in English, comparative literature, communications or an equivalent at SAIT or a recognized post-secondary institution requires at least a C.
- English Language FoundationsThe SAIT route requires both COMN 155 and SPCH 155. Other recognized pathways have their own levels and assessment conditions; check the complete policy before choosing one.
Twenty-four required courses over four semesters
The required sequence totals 61.5 credits. PROJ 351 is the capstone within those 24 courses. Check the theory and laboratory prerequisites when arranging a course load. SAIT describes examination preparation and practical experience relevant to power-engineering certification; the regulator makes the separate certification decision, and higher classes require further study and examinations.
